When the temperature of water falls below 0ºC it changes to ice. We say it freezes.

In the same way, we could say that wax freezes when its temperature goes below 64ºC. A candle is a lump of frozen wax in the same way as an icicle is frozen water.

Here we are using 'freeze' to mean a change from liquid to solid. This is the scientific meaning of the word. Freezing is the reverse process of melting.
