Notes on the temperature animation

The melting point of this candle wax is 64ºC. Clicking on a temperature above this will give a comment that it is above the melting point; clicking below will give the comment that the wax is solid but the change happens before it gets this cold.

Notes on Language Alert

The pop-up text is:

‘In everyday language we usually use the word freezing to mean very cold because we associate it with ice. Here
we are using it in the scientific sense: freezing is not about ‘being cold’, it is about ‘cooling below the melting
point’.

Freezing is the reverse of melting.’
