B1.2 A SAMPLE OF A SUBSTANCE IS A COLLECTION OF PARTICLES
LINKS
These particles are extremely small. One small grain of salt is made from about a hundred, billion, billion particles. (100,000,000,000,000,000,000).

The particles are so small that we cannot see them - even with a microscope. However, it is useful to imagine that we can.

There is nothing else except the particles.
The particles are not ‘inside’ the substance, they are the substance.
