The solubility of oxygen and nitrogen decrease as the temperature
of the water increases, so they come out of solution as
bubbles when we heat the water.
Oxygen is more soluble than nitrogen: 33% of the dissolved
‘air’ is oxygen. The dissolved oxygen is important
because this is what fish (and other water animals) use
for respiration.
