Notes on video of sulfur freezing
Students should notice tiny crystals forming around the edge of the liquid inside the paper cone.
They should also notice that the crystals produced in the first cone are long and thin.
By contrast, the sample from the second cone seems to be just a lump, with no visible crystals: the sample is made of lots of interlocking crystals, but it is just not possible to see them.

Notes on video of ice freezing
Crystals form around the edge first.
The crystals are long and thin (and are growing towards the centre).
When the water in the cup is allowed to freeze completely, the crystals grow into each other to form a solid block.
