I5.6 MIST AND SMOKE

A mist is another type of this kind of mixture: small droplets in the liquid state mixed with something in the gas state. Remember the mists we have seen above boiling water and wax.

What we call 'smoke' is either a mist or small bits of stuff in the solid state mixed into the air.
