P2.1 AIR PRESSURE AT WORK

The air puts a pressure on everything of about 10N per square centimetre. That is a force equivalent to the weight of a 1 kg bag of sugar on each square centimetre.

Air pressure is pushing on you from all directions right now, but you don't feel it because there is the same pressure inside you pushing out.
